Thistle Hall is actually four buildings placed in such a way as to for a square. The buildings are five stories high and hold the student dormitories. The dorms are set up like apartments and range from one to three bedrooms each. In addition to the bedroom(s), each apartment also has a small kitchen and dinning room, a living room and a bathroom. The apartments come fully furnished with the only things the students need to bring if they want is a television and the supplies needed to outfit the kitchen if they intend to use it.
The northern building of the complex has a small grocery store on the bottom level so students can purchase food. The store hires students to work in it and is very flexible about their hours to ensure that they attend their classes. Students who choose to use a meal plan instead, get their meals at the cafeteria located in the central hub.
In the middle of the square formed by the buildings is a green courtyard. The courtyard contains a handful of trees which provide shade for students wishing to study outside during the warm weather.
